Panamint Valley Road……………...Open. Caution advised due to sections of unpaved surfaces.
Wildrose Road………………………Closed from Wildrose to Panamint Valley due to flash flo...od damage.
Today’s weather calls for a 40% chance of thunderstorms and a high of 119. Thunderstorms are predicted to continue throughout the week.
While the summer monsoons create great beauty in the desert, they can also create dangerous circumstances. Use extreme caution when traveling. Avoid backcountry roads, canyons, and low lying areas. Never drive through a wash flowing across the road.

ROAD UPDATE 07/06/2014
Badwater Road is now closed at the southern end near the town of Shoshone. No thru-traffic. The good news is that the famous scenic points of Badwater Basin, Devil's Golfcourse, and Artist's Drive are still accessible from the north (CA Hwy 190)......for now.

Road conditions are subject to change without notice especially in the current monsoon season.
We have a 20% chance of thunderstorms today, tomorrow, and then continuing into the extended forecast. Temps will be HOT around 120 degrees during the day and only cooling to the mid 90’s at night. Hiking is not recommended.
