O, I'm sorry, that's correct, Silke, the SR (UT)-128 : Moab - Cisco.
An (as good as) unedited video of that great scenic road. A lot of forummembers have driven that road in summer, but in a winter-snowlandscape the scenery is even more spectacular. The videospeed is 2x the real speed for reason of shortening the footage.

For those who like to see more (fully edited) videos of the Southwest : Kalaman Films and/or blog videopage (English)(all created by my 18-year old son).

We've updated our EveryTrail with the hike tou Chesler Park.
You can find our whole hike, including pictures, trip-statistics, elevation gain/loss. Also easy to download the trip for future use on GPS-device and/of iPhone.
Those who want to see more of that day, please feel free to check Flickr and/or our blog
Thanks a lot, Fritz . Your site is always a great help to us when planning our trips. Next April we planned this hike and right now you put this post here
Thanks Betty
In the morning it was very (very) cold, but as soon as the sun came it warmed up. We were dressed in layers (a must when hiking in winter) and took of our vest and softshell after a very short time. It was freezing all day in the shadow but in the sun it was great. No problem to hike in T-shirt. But as soon as we stopped we had to put our vest back on, although there was no wind at all.
And...complete silence... Just the 3 of us were there the whole day. In the morning we saw a ranger before starting our hike. He asked us if we planned to sleep there or go back in the evening. This way he knew if our car was still there after dark we might be in trouble and they would look for us.
He told us a story about the silence... some time ago he was also there, all alone. At a sudden time he thought he heard a bird flying behind him. When he looked it seemed to be....a fladdering butterfly... Quiet amazing for us from overcrowded Belgium...
Vielen Dank allen .
waikiki25 : probably no snow in May (although not 100% sure), but still a great scenery
We go back in April for the Druid Arch.
Today we updated our blog with our hike in Chesler Park in a true fairytale winterlandscape : 23-12-2013
We tracked the whole hike for our EveryTrail page

Thanks a lot everybody
@Nadine : next episode to come is a wonderful snowworld in Chesler Park
Haiko :
"Warum hängt dort eine einsame Christbaum Kugel ?"
Well after all it was X-mas time and somebody must have put that ball in the tree...
"Was sind das für komische Shirts welche die Leute dort anhaben ?
"Die Leute" are me and my 2 sons...Hiking at minus 15°C requires "other gear" than in normal temperatures. Best thing to do is dress in layers, so those "komische Shirts" were the last layer we got. They are thermals which adapt to body temperature. This way you have maximum comfort in extreme conditions. See Craft Active Extreme Concept. My brother in law is manager in the Trek Cycling team
@Silke : we are in the Southwest from April 04-20 and if we can schedule it in our trip we definitely go to MB and of course it comes on our blog
Ich will auch mal im Winter in den Arches NP
DO IT
Danke Sarahbonita
We sincerely think there are not many pictures of the other side of Mesa Arch and certainly not of the False Kiva from the outside
today we updated our blog with Dead Horse SP - Canyonlands NP - False Kiva - Mesa Arch.
We also updated our EveryTrail page with the hike to False Kiva

This one was V 1.0. But now we bought the new one (V 2.0) a few weeks ago.
"No Public Access" to Marlboro Point . A lot of oil-trucks were driving this road in December ;noe;. This is the road from Hwy 313. The road from the Island in the Sky road was impassable due to snow. At this point there was no sign, but the rangers at the VC of Dead Horse SP told us the drilling company "is not pleased with visitors...". Anyway we will probably try it again next April when we are back in the region.
the road to Marlboro Point has become a "Private Road", due to oil-drilling. Marlboro Point is between Dead Horse SP and Canyonlands NP and is under jurisdiction of the BLM who gave permits for oil driling in the area...

I totaly agree, Daniel, that's why we didn't even take it with us on our trip to the Northwest and Canada in June/July.
Hallo, Kalaman,
