That's great, Wolfgang. Wasn't it too windy in Tenerife? Please do share some images of the GoPro.
In April we might do a contest in flying under the KOW -
und ich bin nicht geheiratet mit Alida
-
Danke für die Info, Alida und Pean
Volker :
@Wolfgang : dass soll ganz toll sein ...und nun weiter in Englisch... ... I've got a lot of your website for our trip, so it would be great to meet each other even if we cannot fly with the DJI (because of the wind...).
So far we were not at the Bisti's or VOD. Here you can see why .
We will keep a blog at April 2014
Did you buy a special case for the DJI? We always put it in the hand luggage. Don't forget to put the batteries in the hand luggage because lippo's can explode when the don't have the right pressure
We will definitely read each other before April but first, next week (01-07/03) we are doing the "the-most-beautiful-seatrip-in-the-world" -
Hey Alida,
wass meinst du mit 'die Mars Society'? The Mars Desert Research Station?
Meinst du mit "die schöne Badlands", Cathedral Valley? Auch die Burpee Road kann ich nicht finden ?
Factory Butte ist in unsere plannung. -
@Fritz : many thanks again for your great website which is always a great help for us in planning our trips/hikes

It`s a gravel road and road conditions can chance every day, but normaly the first 40 miles are good for driving.
40 mph are possible.
thanks, Snake, perhaps we better decide this once we are there. Depending on the condition of the HITR -
I know, Manu, but that's why I wrote "Not everything on the schedule will be done. On day 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 we will decide that very day what to drop."
ALL places are impossible, but for every trip we plan a lot more than is possible. Then the very day we decide what we will do, weather/road conditions depending -
only 90 minutes ? Google Maps gives me 3 hours one way...
I will not sleep in my car for just a 90 minutes drive...
-
pfff...I know , but is there another option than drive 3 hours all the way back from the Broken Bow Arch trail to Escalante...and the next morning again 3 hours to the Coyote Gulch Trailhead ? Or is 3 hours not the real time needed?

In April we are going back to the Southwest. Our sixth trip to that region but thanks to, among others, this great forum, all places (except for the overnight cities of course) are brand new.
Depending on weather / road conditions, this will be the route.
This trip is one of beautiful rock structures and slot canyons. We plan to do, such as on days 2, 4, 5 and 9 a few rather tough hikes.
Because on day 4 and 5 we have to drive a long way on the dirt road Hole in the Rock (3hrs single way), we consider sleeping in the car the night of April 8th (actually not our favorite thing, but necessity knows no law ... :(). This way we could start early in the morning our hike to Coyote Gulch.
Not everything on the schedule will be done. On day 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 we will decide that very day what to drop. Please feel free to comment/correct

@Fritz : on your site you have 3 ways to go to the White Domes : which one is your favorite?
-
Sabine : don't forget there is a lot more to see in that area than just The Wave. If this can help you to find the other great spots : on December 18th 2013, we have tracked our "Day at the Wave" and uploaded the gpx to our EveryTrail account : you find everything about it on our blog : 18-12-2013 The Wave (second time in 8 months) -
You can see a video of the whole drive Hanksville - Green River (by Five Hole Arch) in our blog : 5 april 2013 - Hanksville - Goblin Valley - Five Hole Arch - Green River
